Model/makeup/styling: Monique Dimanlig Photography/post-processing: me *** Special thanks to the awesome Richie dela Merced for letting us shoot at their home, and for letting me use his gear (yet again)!
This was taken two nights ago, the very day that the earthquake and tsunami hit Japan. I do love Japan, and am heavily influenced by their culture, as is obvious from all of my work, and even though I have never been there, I feel like it's already become a huge part of myself. Seeing images of the disaster all over the news just breaks my heart.
My thoughts go out to everyone who was affected by the incident. To those in Japan, ganbare! I do truly know and believe that Japan is a strong nation, and that they'll be able to pull through this. Be strong everyone, and have faith! Pray.
This is absolutely breathtaking. Japanese styles in fashion and their culture are huge inspirations to me. Their culture is beautiful and they have held onto it for so long despite so much innovation in their country, and that is incredibly admirable. This image is so beautiful and stunning I am almost at a loss for words. It embodies a look that not only shows a glimpse into such a timeless culture, but she herself looks as though she has stepped out of an era past, and you have captured that wonderfully.
And I agree with you very much, I have never been to Japan though it does feel a part of me as well, and I pray daily for their recovery. But as was said in the comments, Japan is probably the most well prepared for an incident such as this, and they are handling it amazingly well thus far, and I am certain that they will recover and be back to how they were before in no time.
And also in response to something on your DeviantART profile...the eyes look green to me as well. ^_~
